How a Cross-Border Trip Works
Your chauffeur collects you at your pickup address in Singapore and drives to the checkpoint. You clear Singapore departure and Malaysian arrival immigration at the land checkpoint, with passports ready for every passenger, then continue to your address in Johor.
The time at the checkpoint is what makes cross-border trips hard to predict. On a quiet weekday it moves quickly. At peak times the queue can add a long wait on top of the drive, so plan with a buffer.
If you’d rather keep the car for a day in Johor, ask about hourly chauffeur hire instead of a one-way trip.

What to Prepare
- Passports for everyone in the car, including children. Everyone goes through immigration on both sides.
- Your exact address in Malaysia, so the route and crossing can be planned.
- Your time of arrival, not departure. Tell us when you need to be there, and we’ll work back from the checkpoint time.
- Child seats if needed, at S$22 per seat per trip.
When the Checkpoints Are Busiest
Checkpoint traffic builds up on Friday evenings, weekend mornings, the eve of public holidays and school holidays in both countries. If your trip falls on one of those, leave early.
Cross-Border From Changi Airport
You can go straight from a Changi arrival to Johor Bahru without stopping in the city. Your chauffeur tracks the flight, and the 60 minutes of free waiting starts from the actual landing time. The trip then continues to Woodlands or Tuas.
Pricing
Cross-border trips are priced by request for quotation, because the cost and the time at the checkpoint depend on the crossing, the destination, the vehicle and the day. Send us the pickup, the destination, the date and the number of passengers and bags, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote within 1 working day.
Every quote includes ERP, fuel, tolls, parking and GST on the Singapore side. Trips between 23:00 and 06:59 carry a late-night surcharge from S$23, depending on the vehicle.
